WHY DO YOU RACE? WHAT STARTED YOUR LOVE FOR ENDURANCE SPORTS?

I have been involved in some sort of sports since I was a kid. It was great to have that camaraderie. I think as I have gotten older, racing is just another way to experience camaraderie as you work towards your goal. I mostly race for the excuse to train and to have accountability with others.

WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO TRAIN AT KINGFIELD ENDURANCE?

My sister was starting a test group last summer as Kingfield Endurance was starting. I thought what the heck? Loved the idea.

WHAT KEEPS YOU COMING BACK TO KINGFIELD ENDURANCE?

So many things keep me coming back. The family of other athletes that are happy to see you when you are there and ask where you've been when your not. (Something like the theme song from Cheers but instead of the bar we have the turf.) The coaches keeping you motivated and supporting your goals. The strength workouts that I would not do on my own. Seeing improvement in my performance. I also appreciate the multi-faceted team involved at Kingfield. Emily has added to my overall performance and weight loss with introducing me to the world of macros.

HOW HAS THE CROSSFIT TRAINING IMPACTED YOUR ENDURANCE SPORTS PERFORMANCE?

CrossFit brings you to this threshold of shitty. Can I say that here? You know that place in your WOD that you think your going to puke or there is no way you can finish and somehow you do. I think bringing this back to endurance sports means you never feel that bad so you know you can do it. You know you may be able to push a bit more. Never mind just feeling overall stronger in your performance.

DO YOU HAVE A MOTTO?

Don't quit, Keep moving. (Well maybe except with Burpees... that is a move of mind of matter for me). Many times I may be the last to finish but I try to keep pushing with each move and keep going. That I can do it. That although I am the last to finish, the workout is for me and I did it.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE MOVEMENT? Back Squats or Thrusters.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE FOOD? I am a bit of a foodie. I love to cook or try new places. So this is hard to pick just one. If I were to keep it simple... Avocados. But if I were to say a meal or dish it would be a lobster roll. Cant take the east coast out of me I guess.

WHAT'S YOUR POWER SONG? All These Things That I've Done, by the Killers
