WHY DO YOU RACE? WHAT STARTED YOUR LOVE FOR ENDURANCE SPORTS?
I race for many reasons. To stay in shape, to challenge myself, but mostly to hang out with some pretty awesome people. My love for Endurance Sports started 8 years ago when I finally quit smoking, cold turkey after smoking 2 packs a day for almost 10 years. I started to gain weight and was NOT okay with that, so I started running. It was only 3 years ago though that I started doing Triathlon. It's basically my Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law that got me started and now I am hooked! Thanks Kyle and Kym! The feeling of accomplishment when crossing the finish line is one of the best feeling ever!
WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO TRAIN AT KINGFIELD ENDURANCE?
Coach Lea, asked me, and the other members of her Northstar Team if we would like to try "Crossfit" at the Kingfield Gym on the off season to get stronger. I am always up for a challenge so I said YES! I believe this was the beginning of the Kingfield Endurance and I have been here ever since, I love it!
WHAT KEEP YOU COMING BACK TO KINGFIELD ENDURANCE?
So many things keep me coming back to Kingfield Endurance. All of the people really make it a place I want to be. I can honestly say when I started I was so afraid of being the weakest person there and that people were going to be mean and judgmental, but I was worried for nothing. Every single person I have met here is great! No Crowns, Just Courage, couldn't have said it any better. Coach Lea, Coach Anna, and Coach ZacK you are the best in the business, you inspire me to try harder. I couldn't do these workouts on my own!
HOW HAS THE CROSSFIT TRAINING IMPACTED YOUR ENDURANCE SPORTS PERFORMANCES?
I am stronger then I have ever been in my entire life. I have, as some would say, "found my butt". Honestly, I probably would be injured and not racing right now if I wouldn't have started at Kingfield. Because I am stronger now, I am swimming, biking, and running faster then I ever have, and without injury.
DO YOU HAVE A MOTTO? I say "F***" a lot that usually helps.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WORKOUT OR MOVEMENT? Split Squats, I love them! They helped me "find my butt"
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE FOOD? Steak
WHAT IS YOUR POWER SONG? Don't really have one power song, I love so many, but I do love a little Cake, "The Distance" .
