WHAT STATRED YOUR LOVE FOR ENDURANCE SPORTS?

I'd always watched the Ironman Championships in Kona and thought what they did was so amazing. In 2011, I finally worked up the courage to do my first sprint. I loved triathlon from the get go, but the swim absolutely terrified me. I've worked through that fear and now the swim and bike legs are my favorites. I race because it's my reward for all of the training I put in.

WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO TRAIN AT KINGFIELD ENDURANCE? 

I've always know that strength training was a key part of being healthy and racing injury free. Because the focus is on endurance sports, the workouts are tailored to the needs of the endurance community. I've gotten stronger and faster by training with Kingfield Endurance.

WHAT KEEP YOU COMING BACK TO KINGFIELD ENDURANCE? 

The peeps obviously! Triathlon training can be a very solitary sport because on race day it is just you at the starting line. So it's really nice to work out with other people, talk about races, issues, etc. Also I know I'm always going to get my butt kicked and be so happy I got up before the crack of dawn to get my workout in.

HOW HAS THE CROSSFIT TRAINING IMPACTED YOUR ENDURANCE SPORTS PERFORMANCE? 

My endurance is better and I think overall I'm faster and stronger. I'm looking forward to this race season to see how well I perform.

DO YOU HAVE A MOTTO? SOMETHING YOU TELL YOURSELF WHEN YOU'RE FIGHTING THROUGH A WORKOUT? 

Just keep going and it's fine, you're fine. I try to focus just on plugging away at what I'm doing and not thinK about the next thing. This is really important for longer distance races, if you think about the 112 miles you need to bike while you're swimming 2.4 miles that can be a deal breaker.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE WORKOUT OR MOVEMENT?  

Squats - front and back. I also love swimming! I come from a biking background so it is kind of funny to say that of the two I would almost always pick a swim workout over the bike.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE FOOD? 

Avocados! My favorite bad food is dark chocolate covered caramels!
