WHY DO YOU RACE? WHAT STARTED YOUR LOVE FOR ENDURANCE SPORTS?
I race for the thrill and camaraderie among fellow athletes. Participating in MS150 and spectating Ironman Wisconsin 5 years ago jump started my love for endurance sports.
WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO TRAIN AT KINGFIELD ENDURANCE?
Over the past few years I had spent a lot of time getting stronger swimming while participating in master's swimming and I felt Kingfield could deliver that same feeling and outcome in cycling by participating in computrainer classes. A fellow athlete referred me, Lea and Anna had all the right answers to my many questions and it felt like a place I'd not only enjoy, but love telling others about, too.
WHAT KEEPS YOU COMING BACK TO KINGFIELD ENDURANCE?
The community and atmosphere without a doubt. Everyone is very welcoming and approachable and I miss it when I'm not able to make it or I'm spending more time outside like now.
HOW HAVE THE COMPUTRAINER CLASSES IMPACTED YOUR ENDURANCE SPORTS PERFORMANCE?
The computrainer classes have helped me drastically. My FTP jumped ~20% after 4 weeks and ~10% after another 4 week time period. If it weren't for a recent injury I'd be going into racing season the strongest I've ever been.
DO YOU HAVE A MOTTO? SOMETHING YOU TELL YOURSELF WHEN YOU'RE FIGHTING THROUGH A WORKOUT?
Be in The Moment
WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE TYPE OF WORKOUT?
A high tempo, right below threshold, I could ride here and hard for hours kind of workout (ride).
WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE FOOD?
Cheeseburger with a cold beer.
WHAT'S YOUR POWER SONG?
Wild Ones by Flo Rida - the song that sent my off for my first Half Ironman.
