WHY DO YOU RACE? WHAT STARTED YOUR LOVE FOR ENDURANCE SPORTS?

The plan was to run one marathon, just to do it, then it turned into another and another. Then I met my other half who kept suggesting new races that we could run while travelling the world. Now it's just part of me. We've started running trail races and I love running places that a lot of people never even get to see.

WHAT MOTIVATED YOU TO TRAIN AT KINGFIELD ENDURANCE?

I'd been losing my mojo the last few years and couldn't meet the goals I set for myself. I have always wanted some sort of personal trainer and support, so I felt like I could get something resembling that here, as well as a nice mix-up of training so I don't get bored.

WHAT KEEPS YOU COMING BACK TO KINGFIELD ENDURANCE?

I secretly love to compete, both with myself and with others (but I guess it's not so secret now), so having a different challenge with every class is exciting for me. It's also nice to be surrounded by other people who give up weekends to do things that many think are crazy.

HOW HAS THE CROSSFIT TRAINING IMPACTED YOUR ENDURANCE SPORT PERFORMANCE?

In the 3-4 months that I've been coming to Kingfield, I've gotten stronger and I've managed to continue to shave time off of one of my hardest trail marathons. I've also learned a lot of new strength training moves and opened myself up to different ways I can make myself even stronger. I look forward to my future progress.

DO YOU HAVE A MOTTO? The faster you run, the sooner this will be over.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE WORKOUT OR MOVEMENT? It depends what sort of mood I'm in, but I guess anything that makes me feel like a badass.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE FOOD? Shrimp. Yum.

WHAT IS YOUR POWER SONG? Free Bird. Florence and the Machine's "What Kind of Man" gives me some good raging energy, too
